We offer Psychotherapy with experienced and accredited Psychotherapists. Our Philosophy is based around Wellbeing. We believe that everyone should be able to make changes in their lives to improve their overall Wellbeing, whether that is for specific disorders, or for clients who experience an unspecific sense of anxiety/low mood and want to make changes. We’re here to help you.

Our aim is to provide a safe, collaborative and empathic space to explore and empower, as well as learn techniques that can help you break out of unhelpful patterns, or achieve your goals and to overall improve your quality of life.

About Us:

We are based in beautiful South West London, and we have offices in Wandsworth Town, Southfields and Putney.  We have worked in mental health settings for many years and have specifically trained in providing Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and other variants recognised as being effective in treatment mental health difficulties. We are accredited by the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) which requires us to work in accordance with the BABCP ethical guidelines and we attend regular training to ensure we are up-to-date with the latest interventions. Each therapist has developed specialist areas. We are aware that choosing a therapist can be a very difficult and important decision; so a brief overview of our approach may help you. We aim to be respectful, genuine, non-judgemental and supportive at all times. It is important to us that you feel safe and comfortable; so confidentiality is always guaranteed. Whilst in therapy we will work with you to ensure that you have a customised, evidence-based treatment plan that you have agreed to. This helps to ensure that the treatment you receive will be of a standard dictated nationally by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence.

We can both be found on the BABCP website which you can be directed to from here.

Psychotherapy

what approach do you use?

Our core training is within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), although we tend to use an integrative approach of different therapies we have been trained in and learned over the years.

CBT is the combination of cognitive and behavioural therapy models, and should help you to understand how you think about yourself, the world and others.  It draws upon the premise that what you do ('behaviours') affects your thoughts ('cognitions'), feelings and physical symptoms. The behavioural therapy component identifies and then challenges unhelpful or harmful behavioural patterns. The cognitive therapy component follows the premise that certain ways of thinking can trigger or fuel certain emotional difficulties. Therapy therefore aims to identify unhelpful thought processes, mental images, belief systems or attitudes and adapt them to ensure they are realistic as well as helpful, with the Universal goal to improve overall wellbeing.

Who do we help?
We help people with a range of difficulties; whether they have a formal diagnosis or those who are looking to make a meaningful change in their life, we can help.

The following is a list of disorders that we help people with, although it is not exhaustive.
*Panic Attacks or panic disorder
*Depression
*Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
*Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
*Habits such as facial tics
*Some sleep problems
*Post Natal Depression
*Specific phobias (I.e. Heights, flying, blood, animals, confined or open spaces etc.)
*Generalised Anxiety (GAD)
*Social or performance anxiety
*Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) *Eating Disorders
*Chronic Pain
*Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME)

Most therapists typically develop specialisms in one or more particular disorders so it would be important when choosing your therapist to check whether they treat your particular problem.

how do I know i’m ready?

If you have thought about engaging in therapy, you are probably ready. It does take time and commitment, so it is important to consider how you would like therapy. Would you prefer online therapy to fit around you? We have a lot of clients worldwide, and those who travel, and we find the online works best for them. You may prefer therapy face to face, and we currently see clients from 3 different offices in South West London.

During the course of the therapy you will start with an assessment of your difficulties. You would then be able to discuss a treatment plan and goals that you want to achieve from therapy. Each session normally lasts 50 minutes and a course of therapy typically last between 12-20 sessions, however this can be shorter or longer depending on the nature and severity of your problem and what you would like to achieve.

Testimonials

“When I started my sessions with Natalie I was in a very unhappy place.  It is amazing to think how monumental the change has been in my life and my mindset since then, particularly when I consider that this change happened over less than 2 months of sessions.  I am so grateful that it was Natalie who helped me on this journey.  She is incredibly professional and extremely good at what she does, but what I valued most was that I always felt like I was talking to a friend.  What was also evident during our conversations is that Natalie is very experienced and she draws on that experience in a way that allows you to feel confident that you are in skilled and capable hands. The progress that we made was so much bigger and so much more rewarding than I expected and I will always be grateful to Natalie for her amazing work.  I would not hesitate to recommend her and I will truly miss our sessions, which are, incredibly, no longer needed”.

"Thank you so much for helping me, I was in a very dark place when I came to see you and now I feel much better about my life and myself as a person. You've taught me some amazing techniques to help me deal with situations, I've been putting them to use and they have made all the difference…"

"James helped me work through feelings of loss associated with my fiancé leaving me and other issues regarding low self-esteem. For years I have been mired in the memory of our love for each other and have found it impossible to move on and form loving relationships with other women. My work with James has changed all this and I was able to reframe my relationship with my ex-fiancé in a more healthy way, and since then, I have been able to love and accept love into my life, with the result that I have just started a new relationship with a wonderful new girlfriend and we are more in love with each other than either of us could have imagined. None of this would have been possible without the work James and I did together…"

“I found the approach we took extremely helpful in tackling my anxiety. The sessions were supportive, patient and flexible and gave me a focus in-between to practise what we discussed. A few months after finishing them, my anxiety is back ‘under control’, I’m able to manage and understand it better, and use the techniques I learnt myself. A big thank you for the help.”

"The sessions I had have had a huge impact on many areas of my life and relationships. I was hoping to work on strategies in quite a specific area of my behaviour and thinking, but I quickly realised that I needed to bethinking more widely about how other things impacted me. This was thanks to my therapist listening closely, and picking up on the subtle things that came up and that I didn’t see myself. I’d always thought I had a really good understanding of myself, but it was the things I hadn’t noticed that were holding me back. He challenged me where necessary, and gave me space to explore and spend time on what came up that I hadn’t gotten to the bottom of before. The change has been hard work, gradual, and strange at times, but has been worth it as it seems much more sustainable than things I’ve tired in the past, because it makes sense…"

"I am extremely grateful I met you. Your thoughtful suggestions equipped me with methods to manage my anxiety and fear without medication..."
